Postdoctoral fellow position in human genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY
A postdoctoral position is available immediately for a recent PhD in the area of human genetics and/or bioinformatics in the laboratory of Dr. Bernice Morrow. The goal of our lab is to identify genetic modifiers of congenital heart disease in patients with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q). For this, we are analyzing whole genome sequence from over 1,200 individuals with 22q, focusing first on rare variants in protein coding genes and then extending our analysis to non-coding regulatory regions. Our idea is that modifiers may be in the genetic network of TBX1, the main gene for the syndrome. Prior experience in statistical genetics would be a plus. The position that is available requires proficiency in R, Linux and/or Python. Good communication skills in English are required to interact w
