postdoctoral position plant biochemist - biologist
You will be working in the Laboratory of Functional Plant Biology at Ghent University in Belgium, headed by Dominique Van Der Straeten (See www.fpb.ugent.be for more information on our work). The goal of the project is to identify novel ethylene biosynthesis and signaling inhibitors, useful in ethylene research, with potential application in agriculture or horticulture. We aim at identification and characterization of compounds from a natural products library, prescreened using an in silico toolbox of computational chemistry technologies related to structure and ligand-based design, and on the interaction between an ethylene receptor and a key signal transduction factor.
