As our impressive growth continues across the MidAtlantic, we are looking for a part-time Assistant Lab Medical Director, Molecular in Oaks, PA

Essential Functions:

• Oversees compliance and quality of the molecular laboratory, including NGS testing, as it pertains to local, state, federal and accrediting bodies
• Interprets clinical cases in molecular diagnostic studies and use the LIS to release results according to Axia policy and procedure
• Collaborates with clinical and laboratory leadership to supervise the development of new assays and oversees R&D, validation, and implementation
• Interprets CLIA and CAP regulations as it pertains to molecular pathology and be the subject matter expert in molecular pathology
• Troubleshoots and responds to molecular pathology related inquiries from providers and laboratory subordinates
• Ensures the quality control and quality assurance programs are effective and maintained
• Oversees the establishment and maintenance of acceptable levels of analytical performance are maintained for each test system
• Guarantees all necessary remedial actions are taken and documented whenever significant deviations from the laboratory’s established performance specifications are identified
• Ensures that reports of test results include pertinent information required for interpretation, and appropriate interpretive comments are included

• Review policies, procedures and other quality documents according to schedule and accrediting bodies 
• Monitor utilization patterns of lab services and advises leadership and appropriate staff of developing trends in clinical service needs

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Foster a unified culture that promotes collaboration and cooperation
• Lead and direct the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes for molecular pathology

• Required:
  • MD or Ph.D
  • Medical License: Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Examiners
  • AP/CP or ABMG certified, or equivalent.
• Preferred:
  • Previous experience in serving as a CLIA laboratory director.
  • Previous experience in NGS and Molecular PCR laboratories
