Vishay, Marshall Minnesota, is currently seeking a fulltime Quality Engineer responsible for developing, evaluating, revising, and applying technical quality assurance protocols/methods to inspect and test in-process raw materials, production equipment, and finished products.  Ensures activities and items are in compliance with both company quality assurance standards and applicable government regulations.  Performs analysis and identifies trends in the inspection of finished products, in-process materials and raw materials, and recommends corrective actions when necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for definition and specification of quality criteria, test equipment and methods, and inspection requirements.

• Maintains liaison between departments typically--Engineering, Inspection , Purchasing, and Production to coordinate product quality and process efficiency.

• Develops product and process performance measurements including generating monthly quality reports for management review, performing trend analysis of quality data, and generating special quality reports, as requested.

• Handles/reviews corrective actions, determines responsibility and assigns for completion.

• Assists in ISO-9001 and QS9000 audits.

• Reviews procurement documents for adequate delineation of quality requirements to vendors through Purchasing and for adequate Receiving Inspection instructions.

• Seeks out areas of refinement of materials and methods for cost reduction and quality improvement.

• Performs supplier quality audits and assessments.

• Oversees calibration of equipment and ensures compliance with QMS.

• Assists with quality surveys by customers or government teams requiring an intimate knowledge of existing quality systems, and the ability to describe applications in terms of various customer specifications.
