SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing technical support and stewardship of various RED- Rochester water treatment and delivery systems in service of Eastman Business Park.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide operational and technical oversight of RED’s Industrial Water System which is a Non-Transient, Non-Community Potable Water treatment and distribution system serving Eastman Business Park (EBP) as regulated by the NYS Department of Health (DOH) including the EBP Drinking Water Distribution System.
• Provide technical support for RED’s specialized water systems including:
  • High Purity Water Treatment and Distribution System
  • Demineralized Water Treatment System for RED’s High Pressure (1400 PSIG) Steam Boilers
  • RED’s closed loop chilled water systems
  • RED’s cooling tower water systems
• Oversee and periodically perform water quality testing in buildings and interface with EBP Customers
• Coordinate water supply issues between RED and RED’s EBP customers.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in operation and maintenance of water systems
• Oversee cross connection control program to ensure compliance with EPA/DOH regulations. Oversee backflow preventer installations to verify compliance with regulations, prepare design and engineering reports for backflow installations as needed.  
• Oversee the design and execution water main replacement projects in compliance with DOH regulations
• Identify potential projects for energy reduction/conservation and other operating cost reduction. Identify potential projects to improve EHS aspects of operation and maintenance tasks.
• Cooperate with RED’s O&M Team’s to troubleshoot water system problems.
• Prepare/revise work instructions as needed
• Prepare DOH Drinking Water and Industrial Sampling Programs annually to ensure compliance with EPA/DOH regulations, and ensure samples are collected and analyzed as required. Follow up on any water quality issues in timely manner as required per regulations. Communicate with DOH and customers as needed per regulations.
• Prepare Monthly, Quarterly, Annual reports on Industrial Water and Drinking Water for DOH
• Stay current on new Federal/NYS Regulations which could impact RED-Rochester Certification, Treatment and Sampling Requirements
• Stay current on NYS Legionella Sampling and Control regulations, including technical oversight of applicable systems.
