• Subject-matter expert (SME) specific to technical operation, performance, and specification requirements of assigned product line(s)
• Develop, lead, and manage New Product Development (NPD) projects aligned with Corporate Annual Operating Plan (AOP) objectives
• Develop, lead, and manage Value Add Value Engineered (VA/VE) projects aligned with Corporate Annual Operating Plan (AOP) objectives
• Generate and execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) as required ensuring standard processes are being followed in detail and changes are highlighted to all concern personnel with proper documentation
• Coordinate, execute, and monitor effective product, and component phase-in / phase-out plans
• Oversee and manage maintenance of 3rd party product regulatory compliance and certification requirements to include supporting Quality Assurance with product audits
• Lead agency and code working group participation to protect Watts interests and drive future development
• Work closely with manufacturing engineering to ensure production methods are aligned with product regulatory compliance and certification requirements
• Supervise and oversee “Special Handling Instruction” (SHI) to included customization of products for specific customer requirements
• Maintain accurate product structure, packaging data, and design drawings utilizing 3D CAD software
• Support sales and customer service organizations with technical information requests
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints using systematic problem solving techniques and implementation of innovative solutions to address root cause
• Support sourcing initiatives related to alternative suppliers, materials cost reductions, and evaluations for buy-sell (B2B) products
• Support supplier quality initiatives related to purchased components, assemblies, and buy-sell (B2B) products
• Support liability claims with the legal department
• Support all cross platform projects and initiatives
• Create and manage engineering training program
• Promote and maintain a team environment and open communication to ensure continuous and efficient productivity
• Perform other duties as may be assigned through discretion of their immediate supervisor

Project Management:

• Manage new product development projects
• Complete all required reporting
• Lead team meetings
• Communicate project status and manage timelines

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISON:

• Supervision of 5 employees:
• CAD Designers, Mechanical Engineer, Chemist, and Lab Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5-7+ years of industry product design proficiency in water conditioning equipment
• Advance technical or business degree preferred
• Strong oral and written communication skills, able to facilitate discussions, and provide key messages
• Working knowledge of the design/manufacturing of engineered products involving castings, springs, machining, stampings, plastic & rubber molding, assembly, testing, and packaging processes
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) practices
• Ability to effectively participate in and facilitate cross-functional/multi-level team meeting
• Strong project management skills, ability to coordinate multiple task and multiple personnel
• Professional Project Management Certification preferred
• Excellent comprehension of MS Office products
• Travel Required: 10%
