In this role, you will lead projects from beginning to end and utilize your skills to ensure the project is completed timely and within budget. You will speak to citizens on behalf of the County and be the subject matter expert on assigned projects.

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administrator, or a closely related field.
Five (5) years of project management experience in a position actively managing roadway, traffic, transportation, or equivalent complexity projects.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire a valid Arizona Driver’s License to operate a county vehicle when traveling to various geographic location throughout Maricopa County.
Six (6) or more years of project management experience.
Certified Construction Manager, Project Manager Professional, or Certified Associate in Project Management.
ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS

Provides leadership, direction, and guidance in project management processes and procedures.
Directs a multi-disciplinary team consisting of consulting engineers, planners, contractors, and other staff to assure the proper execution of all phases of the program and projects.
Plans the work and directs the development of the project design, scope of work, criteria, standards, and specifications.
Facilitates reviews of engineering studies, reports, designs, plans, estimates, and special provisions.
Resolves complex problems and assures conformance to project plans, county, state, and federal regulations.
Arranges conducts and represents the project team in various meetings, including Public Information, Public Hearings, neighborhood associations, and local jurisdictions.
Initiates the contract process by creating a scope of work, participating in the selections process, negotiating the contract, and ultimately accepting and signing off on the final scope of work and the budget for the projects.
Works in partnership with technical managers to ensure appropriate resources are assigned to the project.
Prepares, negotiates, and maintains project authorizations, including MOUs, Resolutions, IGAs, and other associated project documents.

Must be able to work in an office environment and occasionally outdoors in a roadway project environment; must be able to be seated nearly 100% of the time performing work at a desk utilizing a computer and telephone. This office environment requires the ability to focus on work with activity (such as conversation, copier noise, and office environment noise) surrounding the workspace. Must have manual dexterity of hands and body to operate office equipment. Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 30 pounds, carrying for a short distance for physical transfer of documents and information to and from meetings. Ability to climb, stand, walk, and drive to visit project sites. This position includes a high volume of work, frequent interruptions, and time pressures to meet deadlines. Must be able to concentrate, make decisions and be a team player, due to the professional nature of this position; and Must have the ability to work, function, lead project teams, foster teamwork, and work near others.
