Iowa Trenchless, a specialty underground contractor focusing in trenchless installations, is looking for an individual to join our team, dedicated to providing the highest standard of quality services to the underground construction industry. Due to recent growth within the industry and our company, we are looking to add to our team to help build some of the most challenging underground projects in the Midwest.
The Project Manager / Project Engineer position primary responsibilities to include:
Assist in pursuits and preconstruction activities, including estimating and bidding
Estimate production and total cost based upon project plans/specs and take off information
Develop a thorough understanding of the contract documents for each project
Assist with setting up project schedule of values and completing monthly pay applications; Assist with payment approval of invoices
Submittal processes including ensuring submittals schedule coincides with production schedule
Assist in ensuring all work on the project meets both the contract requirements and Iowa Trenchless’ quality standards
Assists with pricing and drafting change order request proposals
Provide overall direction and leadership for the project at-hand, managing daily activities and issues related to completing project,including overall project planning, scheduling, quality control, contract administration, safety management, labor and equipment resources, and owner and engineer relationships.
Overall responsibility for success and completion of project
Responsible for job profit and cash flow
Lead all aspects of the company’s safety culture and commitment to an injury-free environment
Mentor and manage project foreman and field personnel
Plan and schedule project, procure materials, verify invoices and analyze inventory
Establish and grow client relationships
Complete daily and periodic report updates
Create and manage contracts / subcontracts and purchase orders, and ensures all documents are completed and signed.
Attend pre-bid, pre-construction, progress and other meetings and represent the company in a professional and knowledge manner
Physical demands of the position to include:
Sitting / standing / walking / driving for extended periods of time, climbing / ladders, squatting / kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing / pulling, twisting / bending, lifting / carrying up to 25 lbs., talking, hearing, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Expected hours of work and travel for this position include:
Full-time Monday-Friday plus additional hours as necessary. Must have reliable transportation.
Some overnight travel may be expected.
Requirements and Qualifications of this position include:
Bachelors degree, construction management or equivalent related work experience and/or technical training
4+ years’ experience in heavy civil construction management or related functions
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Work, Excel, etc.) and scheduling software (MS Project)
Strong working knowledge of civil engineering and construction principles and equipment capabilities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Trenchless or other underground utility work experience preferred
Must be authorized to work in the United States
