Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Civil and Environmental Engineering Geotechnical and Materials Engineering
The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position in Geotechnical Engineering at the Assistant Professor level. The successful applicant is expected to establish a nationally-recognized, externally funded research program. Industrial experience is considered an asset. Applicants with multi-disciplined backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Individuals with expertise in asphalt materials, geo-environmental, and quarry engineering are sought with training and skills that complement and augment existing faculty expertise. Strong candidates in other geotechnical areas will be considered.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, sustain an externally funded research program, advise and mentor graduate students, and be involved in service to the university and profession. The individual should be prepared to teach the undergraduate course in geotechnical engineering. Additional classes of interest to the faculty member and the students will also be developed. It is also preferred that applicants have an earned Ph.D. degree in civil/environmental engineering or equivalent and become licensed as a Professional Engineer within 6 years of appointment.
Oklahoma State University is located in Stillwater, Oklahoma, approximately 60 miles from both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The School currently has 17 faculty members, 277 undergraduate students, and 40 graduate students. The School is a unique blend of teaching and research excellence. Research expenditures were $2.4 million in 2018 or approximately $150,000 per faculty member. The OSU civil engineering program is undergoing a major expansion through the construction of new offices and classrooms as well as the new Endeavor Lab. The Endeavor Lab is a 72,000 sf interdisciplinary undergraduate laboratory opened in the fall semester of 2018.

Must hold an earned doctoral degree from an institution of higher learning accredited by a regional accrediting agency, or have comparable professional experience. (Equivalencies and comparable professional experience shall be specified by the school.)
