We have an immediate opportunity in our Chemical Pulping Division for a Heat Transfer Product Manager at our office in Mason, Ohio. The Product Manager is a strategic part of our Chemical Pulping Division and is responsible for designing heat exchanger and multi-effect evaporator systems. Successful candidates will have a deep technical knowledge of heat exchangers, evaporators, and pulp & paper/black liquor. This position works in close contact with KBC customers; thus, the successful candidate must possess a strong personal image, experience in strategic sales, excellent communication and presentation skills, and be adept at working under competitive conditions.
The Product Manager’s primary functions include:
Providing technical assistance, direct selling and marketing, and evaluation of product pricing.
Leading equipment installation and system start-ups.
Providing customer, and in-house training for equipment operation including writing equipment and training manuals.
Troubleshooting KBC heat transfer equipment, as well as competitor’s equipment, and providing written reports, including any required corrective actions.
Performing field studies, performance tests and warranty claim evaluations.
Assisting in preparation of product technical bulletins, while also authoring and presenting technical papers at conferences.
The candidate we are seeking must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Pulp and Paper Science from an accredited college or university, a strong technical background and a minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial heat transfer technology and applications. This position also calls for frequent travel (approximately 30% and up to 50% for projects). The candidate must be willing to visit pulp and paper mills, both within the United States and internationally on a regular basis.
