Postdoctoral fellow positions are available in a laboratory led by Prof. Seungpyo Hong in the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW-Madison). The primary research interests of our laboratory lie at the interface of materials science, biology and nanotechnology to develop novel polymeric nanodevices for biological analysis, diagnostics and therapeutics.
We seek a scientist with primary interest in targeted drug delivery and/or cell specific capture using polymeric materials, particularly for cancer treatments and diagnosis/prognosis. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in polymer science, materials science and engineering, bioengineering, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences or other relevant discipline. Experience in polymer chemistry, nanotechnology, or cancer research will be considered an advantage. Specific skills in atomic force microscopy (imaging and force spectroscopy), confocal microscopy, surface modification chemistry, or circulating tumor cell research will be considered a plus. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills, verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team. The Hong lab is located in the Rennebohm Hall at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Our research lies at the interface of materials science, biology and nanotechnology to develop novel polymeric nanodevices for biological analysis, diagnostics and therapeutics.
